I was travelling this week, so this is the whole story in one sitting. NIFTY opened the week at 24,581.25 and closed it at 24,366.00, down 204.65 points (-0.83%) — a week that broke cleanly below July's old high and spent five sessions failing to reclaim it.
NIFTY opened at 24,672.00, briefly pushed to 24,707.00, then sold off through the session to a low of 24,601.00 before closing at 24,651.20, down 88.20 points (-0.36%) — the same "Long Unwinding into Short Build-Up" pattern that showed up earlier this week.
NIFTY opened at 24,687.00 and ground steadily higher through the session, absorbing a genuine midday selling stretch before pushing to a fresh high of 24,758.30 and closing at 24,738.60, up 90.30 points (+0.37%).

No bag full of glass, no gear-review energy — one body, one lens, and a bias toward standing closer instead of buying wider. The Sony a7R V (ILCE-7RM5) does the work, almost always paired with an 85mm. That focal length is basically a standing rule: no lazy wide shot that tries to swallow the whole scene, no zooming out of a decision I should've made with my feet. If it doesn't fit in an 85mm frame, I'm probably standing in the wrong place, not missing the right lens.
That's also why temples and tight architectural detail are where this setup earns its keep — the 85mm doesn't reward coverage, it rewards picking one thing and actually looking at it.
The kit's about to get less minimal, though. A 200mm is coming next, for the shots the 85mm simply can't reach — Girivalam at a distance, a gopuram from across a tank, anything where getting closer means getting in someone's way. A wide lens is coming too, for the opposite problem: interiors, thousand-pillared halls, the moments where the story is the whole space, not one detail inside it. The 85mm taught me restraint. These two are for when restraint isn't actually the right call.
